Who is responsible for your information?
Musketeer Computing is the data controller for enquiries submitted through this website. The business is based in Waterford, Ireland.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@musketeer.ie or call 085 172 4710.
Information collected through the enquiry form
Depending on the type of request, the form may collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your telephone number, when provided
- The service you are interested in and your contact preference
- Your message and an existing website address or general location
- Your address and Eircode when you request a house call
- The date, delivery status and administrative status of the enquiry
Normal hosting and security logs may also contain technical information such as an IP address, browser details and the time of a request.
Why the information is used
Your information is used to:
- Understand and respond to your request
- Contact you using your preferred method
- Assess whether a house call is practical
- Prepare for or provide a requested service
- Send an acknowledgement and notify Musketeer Computing of the enquiry
- Prevent spam, diagnose delivery problems and protect the website
- Maintain necessary business, legal and accounting records if you become a customer
The principal legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract and performing any resulting contract. Legitimate interests are also relied upon for responding to enquiries, maintaining appropriate business records and protecting the service from abuse. The mandatory acknowledgement beside the form confirms that you have read this notice; it is not consent to marketing.
Who processes the information?
Access is limited to Musketeer Computing and service providers needed to operate the website and respond to requests:
- O2switch, which hosts the website, database and notification mailbox in France
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks whether a form submission is likely to be from a person rather than an automated system
Cloudflare states that Turnstile processes the browser signals needed for its security function and does not access the form entries themselves. Cloudflare may process technical information in countries where it operates, subject to the safeguards described in its privacy documentation.
Information will not be sold. It will only be disclosed to another provider where needed to deliver a requested service, comply with the law or protect legal rights.
How long is information kept?
Open enquiries are kept while they are being handled. Completed enquiries and submissions identified as spam are deleted after no more than 24 months, unless the information has become part of a customer or project record that must be retained for contractual, accounting, tax or legal reasons.
Technical logs are retained according to operational and security needs and are not kept longer than reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Security and email
Enquiries are saved to the website database before notification email is attempted, so a mail delivery problem does not silently discard your request. Access to the administration system and hosting account is restricted, and connections use HTTPS.
Email is convenient but cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not include passwords, banking information or other highly sensitive material in the enquiry form.
Cookies and analytics
Musketeer Computing does not currently use advertising or marketing analytics on this website. Cloudflare Turnstile runs on the enquiry page to provide the security check and may process limited technical signals needed to distinguish people from automated submissions.
If non-essential analytics or marketing tools are introduced later, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to its use. You may also raise a concern about how your information is handled.
Contact info@musketeer.ie to make a request. You also have the right to complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated when the website’s data practices or service providers materially change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
